  1. Relax your muscles, starting with your shoulders. Be concious of any tension in your body.

For example, you can tighten your right leg and accompany it with a deep breath in, and then release the leg muscles while breathing out. Then move to your left leg, and continue to do this with the rest of your body, moving to each muscle group and spending the time to focus on them. This may take a while but its one of the best temporary panic attack help techniques that I have used.

  3. Be conscious of your breathing. Slowing it down breath by breath, pretend that you are blowinig out a candle. Breathe out through your lips, you can also place your hands on your mid region so that you can feel each and every breath.

  4. Talk to yourself and tell yourself that you are in control and that you aren't going crazy. You aren't going to die, and that this is only temporary. Keep in mind that the actual attack is physically harmless, this helps me cope with the actual situation at hand much better. Remember to continue to breath slow and casual breaths. This will help you more than you think.

The methods described above will only temporarily help you, thats a reactive method to helping cope with panic attacks.
